For over 15 years, Shelby has worked in employment services, sharing her passion for pursuing employment opportunities as a pathway for individuals with disabilities to integrate into their communities. Throughout her career she has worked internationally and across cultures, always with the professional philosophy of empowering self-advocacy and promoting quality services. She is a leader in the disability community and strives to strategically engage public and private partnerships to advance job opportunities for all abilities. Shelby participates on statewide workgroups advocating for the thoughtful inclusion of people with disabilities.
Jolie has built her career around serving and advocating for others, which includes working with the WA State Independent Living Council and working as a care coordinator to help children with disabilities and their families to receive behavioral health services, respite care, and mental health support. She is passionate about the work of advocating for equal rights for the disability community.
She studied Special Education at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, ultimately receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Family Studies.
